SUMMARY:Diwali
DESCRIPTION:The festival of Diwali is celebrated every year between mid-October and mid-November\, on the day of the new moon. It honors Lakshmi\, the feminine divine power in creation who brings prosperity and abundance at every level of life. It’s also called the festival of lights because\, in the evening\, lamps are lit everywhere so Lakshmi can easily find her way and offer her blessings.   \nThe day is spent cleaning the different spaces and putting up decorations. \nAt 4:30 PM\, we’ll hold a small Kali puja. Kali is an aspect of the Divine Mother who destroys negativity\, drives away darkness\, and fosters spirituality.  \nAarti starts at 7:00 PM. \nIn the evening\, as a welcome for Lakshmi\, tea lights and candles are lit. At 9 PM\, we’ll celebrate the Lakshmi puja in the temple for Diwali.
