Primarily, it is a place where people come for their spiritual development according to the teachings of Babaji. The guidelines below are intended to ensure the peace of all guests and also to give children a positive experience of ashram life. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Important points include: experiencing community spirit by helping, for example in the garden and with other chores, the opportunity to attend ceremonies, learning discipline by following the program, experiencing peace and mindfulness.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

By explaining to children in advance what an ashram is, what ashram life is like, and what is and isn’t appropriate, it enhances the enjoyment of all guests during their stay. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Rules in the Ashram Building<\/span> <\/span><\/h3>\n

  • Playing is only allowed in the darshan room, where the games cabinet is located; all other areas are for quiet.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  • After lunch, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, it is time for rest. If it is difficult for the child to rest then, take them outside. A walk in the woods, the waterfall, or the Muddy Pond are fun activities to do. <\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Children are not allowed in the kitchen.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Running in the building is not allowed.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Always supervise your own child.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Rules in the Temple and During Ceremonies<\/span> <\/span><\/h3>\n

    Children are also welcome in the temple and in the dhuni (fire hut). A temple visit, attending a ceremony, can be a rich, impressive, and beautiful experience for them. Prepare them and tell them it is a sacred place they are going to visit. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    • Make sure your child is clean. This is a standard part of entering a sacred space. Clean hands and feet and brushed teeth. <\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Tell them in advance to be quiet. If you notice your child becoming restless to the point of disturbing others, please take them out of the temple. Children can read or draw quietly in the temple. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Running or playing in the temple is not allowed.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
    • In the dhuni, during the fire ceremony, you can sit with your child behind the circle of people making offerings.
