Guru Purnima is celebrated on the day of the<\/span> full moon in July. The celebration is dedicated to the Guru, the external and internal Guru who leads our lives from darkness to light. At Sadashiva Dham, this day is specially dedicated to Mahavatar Babaji and Muniraji, who are the inspiration and guiding force for our ashram. <\/p>\n

This year, 2026, the Guru Purnima celebration will take place at Sadashiva Dham from July 25 to 29. This year is an international celebration, and we expect many people from surrounding countries. The full moon is on July 29.

Accommodation options<\/h3>\n

The ashram has dormitories and a sleeping tent available for overnight stays. You can also stay on the grounds with your own tent or camper. <\/p>\n

Rooms at the ashram have limited availability: they are reserved for people with special duties or due to health or age.<\/p>\n

You can also choose accommodation at the nearby Zonnehuis: there are 2- and 3-person rooms and a single 1-person room. Each room has its own bathroom. <\/p>\n

Another option is to book a room at a nearby hotel or holiday park on your own. In this case, you pay only a day pass per day for participation in the Guru Purnima celebrations plus meals. <\/p>\n

Daily program<\/h3>\n

6:30 AM: Paduka Puja<\/em> in Babaji’s Kutir (chalet), a ceremony to invite Mahavatar Babaji to be present in everyone’s heart<\/p>\n

6:30 AM: Kirtan<\/em> (singing bhajans) around the fire at Babaji’s Kutir<\/p>\n

7:30 AM: <\/span>Aarti<\/em> (light ceremony and chanting of mantras)<\/p>\n

9:00 AM:<\/span> Reading together the Sapta Sati<\/em>, the 700 verses for the Mother (subject to change)<\/span><\/p>\n

On Guru Purnima day, July 29 at 9:00 AM: <\/span><\/strong>Paduka Puja with Abishek<\/em> in honor of Babaji, Muniraj, and all teachers who assist people on their path to Truth, Simplicity, and Love<\/p>\n

10:30 AM: Havan<\/em>, Vedic fire ceremony<\/p>\n

12:00 PM: Karma Yoga.<\/em> Every participant is invited, as part of the program, to do one or one and a half hours of Karma Yoga\/volunteer work per day. Various tasks are available. Please sign up for this at the reception upon arrival. <\/p>\n

1:30 PM:<\/span> Prasad (warm lunch)<\/p>\n

After lunch: Break and rest until 4:00 PM<\/p>\n

4:00 PM: Karma Yoga<\/p>\n

In the afternoon: Satsang in the temple with the theme \u2018<\/span>the inner and outer Guru,\u2019 sharing experiences (subject to change)<\/span><\/p>\n

7:00 PM: Aarti<\/span><\/p>\n

10:00 PM: Silence, rest<\/p>\n

Children are also very welcome. Please note: parents remain responsible for and must supervise their children.
\nA children’s program is being planned, for which parents may be asked to participate (as a Karma Yoga task). <\/p>\n

Karma Yogis and volunteers who would like to help make this Guru Purnima celebration a success before, during, or after the festival, please contact gurupurnima2026@gmail.com<\/a>. In this context, a discount on the festival price may be possible, based on a commitment of at least a few hours per day. <\/p>\n

As part of the festival program, everyone is invited to participate in Karma Yoga for 1 or 1.5 hours anyway. In this way, we make it a successful festival together. <\/p>\n
