Lord Shiva (Babaji) is pure formless consciousness—present always and everywhere.
Shakti, the Divine Mother, is everything that has form—physical, material, or even mental, like thoughts and ideas. All of creation is an endless dance of these two energies woven together.
The Divine Mother appears in many forms. She is one, yet has countless faces.
Haidakhandeshwari Ma is one of them. She is the feminine aspect, the Shakti of Babaji, always shining through Him. She is pure love and compassion.
The Divine Mother takes many manifestations to offer both abundance (Bhukti) and liberation (Mukti). Other well-known forms of Her are Durga (the combined energy of all Goddesses) and Jagadambe (Mother of the World).
Having a picture or statue of the Devi, chanting Her mantras, or doing puja in Her honor can help deepen our connection to the Divine Feminine.
During Navaratri, the Divine Mother is honored and celebrated in different aspects for 9 days. Check the Calendar to see when this is celebrated at the ashram.
